I thought I would have time to write.
In my mind, I had a photo of my “Williamsburg” centerpiece all decorated. In the past 20 years, I have made one every Christmas.
This year, so far, it is an empty board with a bunch of short nails hammered into it to hold the different kinds of fruit I fill it with.
The base is covered with pine needles. I clip small branches and lay them across the board, giving the bottom a festive green color. Next is a pineapple in the middle, which divides the centerpiece.
From there, I go to the farmers market and find interesting fruit, lemons, limes, and oranges to display on either side. It’s all about mixing colors and textures.
The oranges I plug with whole cloves in circular patterns around the fruit. This adds depth and a nice aroma to the centerpiece.
When things settle down, I will post my before and after pictures.
